Sapiens Bench
A small collection of browser-based cognitive games and attention tests. Pick one to begin. These are educational instruments, not medical or diagnostic devices.
Neon Color 2-Back
Track a stream of colors and flag each one that matches the color two steps back. Measures working-memory updating and sustained focus.
Start →Reaction-Time Variability
Respond to every letter except X. Decomposes your reaction times into speed, consistency, and the lapse tail (ex-Gaussian τ) used in attention research.
Start →SART (Sustained Attention)
Digits arrive faster than you can deliberate; press for every one except 3. Built back to front so that a wandering mind produces a press rather than a miss — and the report shows how much your responding had already sped up before each error.
Start →Stop-Signal Task
Match the arrow, but cancel your response when it turns red. A staircase keeps you stopping half the time so the covert stop-signal reaction time (SSRT) — the speed of your mental brake — can be estimated.
Start →Reference-Back Paradigm
Judge each letter against the last one shown in red — while blue letters go past without replacing it. Separates the cost of opening the gate to working memory, closing it, and updating what is inside.
Start →Psychomotor Vigilance Task
Stop a millisecond counter the instant it starts, for ten minutes. The standard laboratory measure of behavioural alertness — scored on attentional lapses and response speed (1/RT) rather than average reaction time.
Start →PVT-B (3-minute)
The validated three-minute PVT: shorter waits between stimuli and a 355 ms lapse threshold, tuned to recover most of the ten-minute test's sensitivity in a third of the time. Use it when you will actually take it.
